To create a customer engagement platform for the hospitality industry to help promote offers and events.
One problem with traditional pub advertising is that you only see it when your actually in the pub. That means if your not a regular to the establishment you wouldn’t be made aware of things like food offers when they are made available.
The idea behind EngageInn was to turn occasional visitors to regulars by reaching out to them when they are not in the pub. For example, if the pub was food oriented, a waiter could capture the contacts details and sign the customer up for receiving updates on food. At a later date a food offer could be sent to the customer to entice them back in for another meal.
We decided on SMS being the better means of delivery as its open rates smash that of an email. SMS could also be used to deliver instant impact. For example, a customer could be in the area, receive a text about an offer and decide there and then to head over to the establishment.
EngageInn, a web based product, was brought to market as a way for the hospitality industry to market directly to their customers.
A configurable data capture application was created that allowed bar owners to gather the interests of their customers. While inactive the application would go into advertising mode and display offers and events taking place at the establishment. The data capture application would store contact information in the cloud.
Key members of staff were given a mobile application that allowed them to send bulk SMS to the customers that had signed up through the data capture device. This allowed the establishment to perform targeted marketing to help them increase footfall.
A mobile application was created for both Android and iPhone devices. The application allowed bar owners to see a list of their customers along with the customer’s interests. The application could be used to send targeted bulk SMS.
A data capture application was created to capture customers interests. This application had to cater for poor WiFi connections by storing submissions when in offline mode. The application also had to cleanse data as some submission names were creative…
We had to lock down tablets and setup remote monitoring to ensure that tablets could not be tampered with. The remote monitoring allowed us to service the tablets without being onsite, this included the ability to push software updates.
